Women who hate women.

Girlfriends. Women respecting women.

Girlfriends. Women respecting women.

There was a time in my life when I was willing to do anything to have and keep a man. I compromised what little values I had, betrayed other women, and settled for whatever crumbs were thrown my way. Today, as a result of years of hard work, a good thing, I behave in a way that is respectful of me, and other women.
The television show Scandal is a great example of how far off the beam we have gotten as a culture. Adultery, at one time, was seen as a sin. Now it has become just what we do. People who have affairs with other people’s spouses are made out to be the good guys. Instead of focusing on the inappropriateness of their behavior, we are encouraged to focus on their assets and feel sorry for them.
Olivia Pope hates women. She has no respect for women, and less respect for herself. She is openly having an affair with a married man and disrespects his wife every chance she gets. Ironically, the storyline makes the wife seem like the bad guy, while the adulterer is seen as a poor soul. I wonder how many women, who support Olivia Pope, would continue to support her if it was their husband she was playing house with?
I learned how to behave inappropriately by watching women in the movies and on TV. I wonder how many young girls watching Olivia Pope will follow in her footsteps. And like Ms. Pope, think they are independent strong women, despite their nasty little habit of sleeping with someone else’s husband?
