A Snapshot of YOU!

Health and Finance, a snapshot of you. This is another blog addressing Part 3 of the Esteemable Acts Vision and Values Worksheet Series.  It is your invitation to step into the life you were destined to live.  A life free of excess baggage. Feel free to download the Health and Finance worksheet enjoy your discovery journey.

Okay, so you are probably thinking, Francine has lost it. There’s no connection between my body and my bank account. These two parts of your life may seem dissimilar, yet they have everything in common. Both are indicative of how you show up for yourself. Each requires your continual attention. Further, each, when attended to, can render untold benefits. When neglected, each will restrict your freedom and keep you stuck. That said, it depends on the choices you make.

This quarter’s worksheet invites you to explore the connection between these two pillars. It’s not about perfection. It’s about clarity, self-respect, and taking Esteemable Actions that align with your values. This is why it is critical that you first understand what you value.

some thoughts to get you started.

Let’s take a look at things to get your started.

  • What do you value?

Identify 3-5 qualities you want to embody in the areas of health and finance. They will
guide your decisions. Think of them as your personal North Star.

  • Have a look at your life in relation to those values, what do you see, honestly? How well are you taking care of your physical health? What about your mental and emotional health? Are you getting a proper amount of rest or are you staying up way past the time your body says, “give me a break, PLEASE”? What about your money, is your spending out of control?  Remember, regardless of your answers, the only person harmed or benefited is YOU!
  • What about your daily habits, which routines support your well-being and financial stability? Which ones are undermining them? You can’t change what you can’t see. An honest snapshot of you is essential for creating change.
  • Explore your feelings regarding your current health and finances. What comes up when you think about where you are today? Regardless of where you are, there is hope ahead. Feelings are not facts, and there is much to be hopeful about, starting now.
  • Identify at least two things that could possibly derail your success? Sometimes it’s good to acknowledge the landmines, so you can avoid them. Sometimes it’s good to get a clear snapshot of you.
  • Let’s take a look at your Plan of Action.
    • What steps might you need to take to get from where you are today to where you want to be?
    • Now break those steps into even smaller action steps. They really need to be manageable in order to become doable. Examples are
      • Book that doctor’s appointment you’ve been putting off.
      • If you eat out often, prepare one meal at home this week.
      • Start saving—just a little. Consider getting a jar or piggy bank and putting in the spare change from your pockets, purses, car seat, and the floor.
      • Review your credit card statement to see where you might eliminate or reduce one expense.
    • Now, break your goals into measurable time frames:
      • Quarterly: Your BIG picture outcomes for the next 3 months.
Monthly: The measurable steps that will help you get there.
      • Daily/Weekly: The small, repeatable actions that turn intentions into reality.
Road to Reconstruction.

The road to reconstruction is long and sometimes filled with detours, but you can get to your destination. These Esteemable Actions are designed to help you feel better about yourself and reach your goals. It’s not just about checking off the boxes, it’s about getting a clear picture of you today and where you want to be.

When you choose to engage in Esteemable Actions, you make yourself the most important person. While some believe you should never put yourself first, I don’t subscribe to that view. Anyone who knows me can tell you how much I give in service to others on any given day. But I’m able to do that without burning out or feeling resentful—because I take care of myself first.

Each small step sends the message, I matter. This philosophy is at the core of my work and my book, Esteemable Acts: 10 Actions for Building Real Self-Esteem, where I share the practices that transform self-respect from an idea into a lived reality.

The Vision and Values series and this quarter’s Health and Finance focus are designed to help you bridge the gap between what you believe in and what you do every day.

Download the Health and Finance worksheet, take an honest look at where you are, and commit to one small Esteemable Action today. Over time, these acts become the foundation for a healthier body, a stronger financial future, and deeper trust in yourself.

It doesn’t matter where you start, it’s just important that you start somewhere. Get busy.
