The fall season is slowly on its way. So let me ask you all a question. How are you doing on the resolutions and goals you set for yourself back in January?
Sad to say, but human nature seems to be that if things don’t happen quickly enough or it becomes a struggle to reach goals, many people just fold up their tents and quit. They then consciously or subconsciously put their goals off to next year – the next New Year’s resolutions.
I am here to tell you that it’s not too late to achieve, or make plenty of progress towards the goals you set. Those of you who know my story know that it wasn’t a walk in the park for me to achieve my goal of becoming an attorney. But I steadfastly kept my eye on the goal and eventually succeeded. Sure, it took longer than I wished it would have. Sure, it was harder than I thought it would be. But here I am, an attorney, an author and speaker!

Are you giving up on your goals too early?

Are you letting the day-to-day events of life drag you down and impede your progress? Are you making excuses in order to justify throwing in the towel?
It’s sad to say that many people give up far too early an easily when working towards their goals. They get discouraged and distracted with the demands of daily life.  They give up on their goal just as their “big break” is right around the corner. Tragically, many live to regret giving up so easily. I beg you not to be one of those people.
I ask you to commit to your goals and identify the things you are putting off regardless of how small they seem at the time. Get your momentum back! Create an intention to stay focused on what’s really important. Write down a positive statement saying what you intend to do and read it often until you finished what you set out doing.
Staying focused and on track is about keeping agreements with yourself. Eventually, to succeed at what we want to do in life, we must start doing the things that lead to our success, regardless of life’s distractions. We must constantly be willing to take action whether we feel like it or not. We must stay focused on the goal!
I invite you to be courageous and recommit to reaching the goals you set for yourself – no matter what!
